Doña Paula - Malbec

90% of these grapes come from our best vineyards in Alluvia, Gualtallary, at 1,350 meters above sea level, and 10% from Los Indios, El Cepillo, at 1,100 meters above sea level. The soils are stony in the first area and sandy loam in the second, and both have a high limestone content. Doña Paula Estate Malbec expresses the unique characteristics of the Uco Valley, a cool-climate terroir, with an average temperature variation of 16 °C in Los Indios and 12.5 °C in Alluvia, and an average annual rainfall of 280 mm in El Cepillo and 300 mm in Gualtallary. The vines produce an average of 8 tons per hectare and are trained on trellises, with drip irrigation. At Doña Paula, our vineyards have always been managed according to sustainable farming practices.

Winemaking
The grapes are hand-harvested in the first week of April. In the winery, they are gently destemmed without breaking the berries. Next, a cold pre-fermentation maceration is carried out to preserve the primary aromas. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures, followed by a post-fermentation maceration of 15-20 days. The wine ages for 12 months in first-, second-, and third-use French oak barrels.

Villa Maria - Sauvignon Blanc

White Wine Grape: Sauvignon Blanc Region: Marlborough This wine showcases the youthful, fresh, and vibrant characteristics of Marlborough. Aromas from the cool climate of the Awatere Valley leap from the glass, such as lemongrass, jalapeño pepper, and fresh herbs. In contrast, the warmer summer months of the Wairau Valley influence the vineyards to produce a pungent Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of ripe citrus and tropical fruit. Vineyard: The vineyards range from the coast to the tops of the cliffs and from gravel riverbeds to fertile silty clay loams, providing a “fruit salad” of aromas, flavors, and acidity to create this regional blend, a fresh and vibrant wine that truly represents the memorable Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. Winemaking Details: Fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperature. Tasting Notes: Color: Straw yellow with green highlights Body: Medium Aromas: Lemongrass, jalapeño pepper, fresh herbs, citrus, and tropical notes Serving temperature: 7-10°C Pairings: Fish, poultry, and veal
