90% of these grapes come from our best vineyards in Alluvia, Gualtallary, at 1,350 meters above sea level, and 10% from Los Indios, El Cepillo, at 1,100 meters above sea level. The soils are stony in the first area and sandy loam in the second, and both have a high limestone content. Doña Paula Estate Malbec expresses the unique characteristics of the Uco Valley, a cool-climate terroir, with an average temperature variation of 16 °C in Los Indios and 12.5 °C in Alluvia, and an average annual rainfall of 280 mm in El Cepillo and 300 mm in Gualtallary. The vines produce an average of 8 tons per hectare and are trained on trellises, with drip irrigation. At Doña Paula, our vineyards have always been managed according to sustainable farming practices.
Winemaking
The grapes are hand-harvested in the first week of April. In the winery, they are gently destemmed without breaking the berries. Next, a cold pre-fermentation maceration is carried out to preserve the primary aromas. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures, followed by a post-fermentation maceration of 15-20 days. The wine ages for 12 months in first-, second-, and third-use French oak barrels.

Aromatically intense and fruity, this wine reveals notes of red fruit such as cherries and
raspberries, as well as ripe black fruit such as plums, blackberries and blackcurrants, which blend harmoniously with notes of black pepper and bay leaf. Aging in oak barrels has given pleasant sweet notes such as caramel, toffee and vanilla.
Well-structured wine, medium-bodied, with good length and mature, round tannins. Long and pleasant finish.
