The inspiration for this exceptional rum blend was Mamie, owner of Kelley’s Ritz, the most famous bar in Panama City, opened in 1925 and known for pushing the boundaries of “decency” well beyond breaking point in what was then a conservative society. Ron Añejo Matamar acquires its aroma
and flavour from the wood of the casks
in which it has been aged for centuries. The
period of time (at least 3 years) during which
this rum remains in the cask in contact
with the wood transforms it into a rum
smooth with toasted notes, combined with nuts, and
always preserving the primary aroma from
which it comes: sugar cane. The alcohol
used is of the highest quality, selected
