The winemaking involves only free-run juice from whole bunches and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Red: Nebbiolo Sassella Petrato Valtellina Superiore D.o.c.g. 2018, Tenuta Scerscè

The Sassella Petrato from Tenuta Scerscé is produced from Nebbiolo grapes (locally known as Chiavennasca) coming from the steep terraces between 450 and 650 meters above sea level that characterize viticulture in Valtellina. The harvest is carried out strictly by hand, followed by traditional red winemaking, and finally, the wine rests in small and large barrels for 14 months. On the nose, typical aromas of red fruits emerge against a spicy and balsamic background. On the palate, it is dry, savory, intense, with silky tannins.

The Pinot Noir from Dalzocchio is one of the finest Italian expressions of the grape variety closest to Burgundy.
