Strong notes of cherry with floral accents. On the palate, full fruit and pleasant freshness. Tannins are supported by a lovely freshness and full fruit. Tannins are felt but not aggressive.

Poggio al Tesoro - Il Seggio BOLGHERI DOC

The Seggio river is the largest watercourse in the munipality of Castagneto Carducci. Its source is up in the metalliferous hills of Sassetta, an area that was already well known in the Etruscan period, which is extremely rich in underground deposits of ferrous minerals. It cuts across the entire area of Bolgheri and its alluvial debris enriches the charateristic clay soils with precious large pebbles, thus ensuring excellent drainage of the soil. This Bolgheri Rosso is produced with typical grape varietes, carefully harvested and vinified to ensure density and concentration but also create a very fresh and easy-drinking style of wine.

Deir, which means Monastery, comes from the marriage of Syrah and Merlot, with a prevalence of Syrah: the two grapes varietals are vinified separataly in open vats of stainless steel with a long maceration. The wines are aged always separately in medium and small wooden casks for at least 12 months and the assembled later. The wine has an anthralling olfactory impact: small black fruits, black cherries, aromatic herbs and dark minerals are just some of the countless sensations. On the palate, everything commingles and meets anew. The dynamic flavors find harmony beetween the powerful tannins and the finesse of the fresh nuances. The imposin structure is always elegant, until the finish that radiates minerality.

Cenobio, named after a historical term for a monastic community, welcomes all our red grapes into a community of its own: Pollera, Barsaglina and Merlot. It begins on the nose with floral notes, surrounded by morello cherry, black pepper, aromatic herbs and a stony trace that gives value to the bouquet. In the mouth, it is broad, has a clear progression with a body innervated by fresh sensations, the tannic structure is articulated and agile, giving support and vitality to the gustatory tension up to the pleasantly long and spicy finish.

Pollera is a native red grape variety that has its roots in the historic Lunigiana region, where it has been cultivated for centuries. The grapes, with thin-skinned berries, are vinified in steel. The wine obtained is aged in medium and large wooden casks for at least 12 months. In the glass, it shows a soft and delicate color. On the nose, it expresses an aromatic range defined by elegance, with hints of cherries, small red berries, black peppe and balsamic-mineral nuances. On the palate, it reasserts its fresh and dynamic taste, which has finesse as its main feature, driven by an average content of silky and deep tannins that amplify persistence and verticality.
