The White Russian came about in the ’60s when someone added a bit of cream to the Black Russian, rendering it white.
In the 1998 the movie “The Big Lebowski” came along and breathed new life into the cocktail with Jeff Bridges’ character, the Dude, sipping it exclusively and constantly.
Black Russian
€ 6.00
The Black Russian is a simple, two-part cocktail combining vodka and Kahlúa, a coffee liqueur that’s made with rum, sugar and arabica coffee. The drink was created in the late 1940s by bartender Gustave Tops at the Hotel Metropole in Brussels.
As the story goes, he made the drink for Perle Mesta, the American ambassador to Luxembourg, who was hanging out at the bar.
The name is a simple reference to the ingredients: Kahlúa is black, while vodka is commonly associated with Russia.

Satisfy your sweet tooth with this after-dinner cocktail, a sweet and smooth blend of dark cocoa cream, fresh cream,Cognac and nutmeg.
Most likely its success and its global popularity are also due to an extremely simple recipe, based on a few ingredients but completely out of the ordinary schemes.
As often happens, there is still an aura of mystery around its birth, which however dates back to the period of the 1920s.
